![]() ![]() Trendline provides a limited gallery of mathematical fitting functions, including regular polynomials up to order six. The reason is that Excel only wants to add a trendline to all of your data, not just a part. Add a Trendline Select the chart where you want to add a trendline. On your chart, click the data series to which you want to add a trendline or moving average. They can even be used to forecast future trends and make predictions. Click the disclosure arrow next to Trendlines, then click the pop-up menu and choose a type of trendline. There are several types of chart markings and axis labels you can add to your charts. Note: You can add a trendline only to unstacked, 2-D, area, bar, column, line, stock, xy (scatter), or bubble charts. ![]()
